In 1980, Sil was walking to his favorite restaurant when he was attacked by two middle-aged males attempting to rob him. The assault was so severe that he died momentarily from the beating. During this death experience, he felt himself leaving his body and floating up toward the roof of the restaurant. From this elevated perspective, he looked around the city area and observed other spirits of dead people also floating upward. A beautiful white light descended upon him from above. In the presence of this light, he experienced intense remorse over his past actions, and his entire life history flashed before him in review. Overcome with sadness about not being able to ask forgiveness from people he had hurt, he asked the light for another chance to make amends for his past. At that moment, he felt himself going through a tunnel and returning to his body. He regained consciousness to find ambulance attendants present and was transported to a hospital where he recovered. The experience convinced him of the reality of the spiritual world and that humans possess two bodies - the physical flesh body and a superior pure white energy body.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience contains several biblical elements including out-of-body experience, divine light from above, comprehensive life review with moral conviction, remorse and repentance for past sins, seeking forgiveness, and being granted another chance at life. The observation of other spirits ascending could relate to biblical descriptions of souls departing at death. The conviction about having both physical and spiritual bodies aligns with biblical anthropology. Unbiblical elements: The description of seeing multiple spirits of dead people floating up simultaneously suggests a view of the afterlife that may not align with biblical eschatology, which typically describes individual judgment rather than mass ascension of spirits. The reference to the spiritual body as "pure white energy" uses New Age terminology rather than biblical language.
