Thomas was beaten by three aggressors in September 2005, going into cardiac respiratory failure. He felt something forcefully pulling his spirit/soul/energy source out through the top of his head, initially resisting like a stretched rubber band before releasing completely. Floating above his body, he tried to command it to move but realized he was dead, causing extreme distress. A voice told him to stop worrying as all troubles had stayed with his body, bringing overwhelming peace and liberation. He passed through the ceiling into a tunnel where he traveled at extreme speed. In a dream-like state, his deceased sister and grandmother appeared, telling him it wasn't his time. He awoke in a clinic after resuscitation. The experience eliminated his fear of death and confirmed his belief in an afterlife. He now talks internally with his deceased relatives and feels less connected to irrational human behavior, becoming more isolated but more compassionate. He describes gaining prophetic dreams about world events. His unique memory of HOW he exited his body - through the top of his head like a rubber band - motivated him to share his experience to see if others had similar sensations.
