On August 5, 2000, Steve was driving through an intersection when another driver hit his car at high speed, causing his vehicle to wrap around a telephone pole. The impact resulted in a traumatic brain injury that would trigger a profound near-death experience. When Steve was placed in the back of the ambulance, the physical vehicle seemed to disappear as he was transported into a brilliant light. Within this light, he encountered a being who asked him the same profound question four times: "Who are you?" Steve struggled to answer correctly, responding incorrectly three times before finally admitting on the fourth attempt, "I don't know who I am." The light being then revealed the answer: "You are love." This exchange represented a fundamental teaching about his true spiritual identity beyond physical form or earthly roles. Steve asked if he could stay in this beautiful realm because he didn't want to return to earth. The light being responded with a clear "No," explaining that Steve had a mission he must complete. Though the specific nature of this mission wasn't revealed, Steve accepted the directive and agreed to return. The experience was characterized by the overwhelming beauty of the light realm and the profound revelation about his essential nature as love. Since his NDE, Steve's life has been transformed. He has been sharing his story with many people and discovered he received gifts of channeling in 2011 and psychic intuitive abilities. The experience fundamentally changed his understanding of identity, purpose, and the nature of existence, leading him from a place of little compassion to being greatly compassionate toward others.
