Greg experienced an anaphylactic reaction in a supermarket that specialists couldn't precisely define afterward. After sweating, bowel movement, and losing body control, he collapsed in the corridor. He could see and hear everything around him for about ten minutes until going into shock. Either his partner or a passing nurse said "We're losing him" before everything went dark.
Greg felt himself floating into pitch-blackness with an incredible feeling of peace and tranquility - the most serene and beautiful experience imaginable. He couldn't see anything in the darkness but felt overwhelming peace and serenity. The experience was amazingly beautiful with feelings he didn't want to stop. He described being absorbed slowly and gently pulled upward into the peaceful darkness. The experience ended when paramedics arrived with adrenaline, giving him an annoying jab in his right arm that brought him back. Greg emphasized the darkness wasn't frightening but deeply peaceful, and he felt a sense of moving through it or it moving through him. The experience was entirely pleasant with no fear. Following the NDE, Greg reports no longer fearing death, believing it's nothing to be feared. He noted the profound peace in the darkness was the biggest surprise, contrasting with his expectations. Though not religious before or after, he valued the complete absence of fear and the certainty that death is peaceful.
