In 1974, eight-year-old Randy was playing a dangerous game called "pass out" with his older brothers and their friends. The game involved hyperventilating then having someone squeeze their chest until they lost consciousness. Randy had done this about four times before without incident, but the fifth time was different.
After passing out as usual, Randy floated out of his body and found himself hovering about ten feet above his two brothers and a friend. He saw them laughing at his unconscious body and felt angry they were mocking him. Surrounded by a feeling of total love unlike anything he'd experienced, he didn't initially find the situation odd. He gradually rose higher until he was above the trees, then could see his house, and eventually the entire village from an aerial view. As he approached the high school at the edge of town, he began shooting straight up into a white light. Suddenly concerned he might never return, he thought "I want to go home." Immediately, a voice said "You're not ready yet," and he zoomed back into his body at incredible speed, waking with a jolt. Randy's brother later confirmed that during this incident, Randy had stopped breathing and they became frightened, kicking him repeatedly to wake him up. Randy didn't understand the significance of his experience until years later when he saw an episode of "Unsolved Mysteries" about NDEs and realized what had happened to him. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with consciousness separate from the physical form aligns with biblical dualism.
