Shawn was found by his wife in the backyard with gray skin and purple lips. EMTs arrived after 10-15 minutes and showed only flat lines on the monitor. After 5-6 electric paddle shocks failed, they declared him dead. Just as they were removing the leads, one beep appeared, then another. During this time, he floated through total darkness feeling indescribable love, came face to face with God who looked into his eyes knowing everything about him - past, present, and future. God spoke telepathically saying "I'm not ready for you yet. There are things I want you to do first." He died again in the helicopter and on arrival at the hospital. Doctors said he would have severe brain damage from oxygen deprivation and showed him the bottom third of his heart - shriveled, blackish, and non-functioning. That night he felt God's presence reach into his chest. The next morning, doctors were bewildered to see his heart beating perfectly, completely healed. They had no explanation for what they witnessed. After the experience, he developed the ability to see people's past when shaking hands. Six months earlier, a voice in his car had explained why God let him witness his father's traumatic death at age 12 - to give him the chance to say goodbye and "I love you" that his brothers never had.
