Saurabh underwent his seventh major surgery within a month for internal bleeding. During the critical procedure, his heart stopped twice, and medical staff believed he would certainly die without intervention. While clinically dead, Saurabh experienced being lifted in what felt like a transparent elevator, moving rapidly toward a soothing, brilliant light that didn't hurt his eyes. He traveled through space, observing planets resembling Mars with dust and rocks, ascending at incredible speed while feeling profound peace. Upon realizing he was dying, he prayed intensely to return to his mother, directing his prayers to a presence he sensed high above. Despite not being religious, he felt a definite entity controlling his ascent. His desperate prayers to be sent back were answered when he suddenly dropped back into his body, awakening to intense surgical pain. The nurse later confirmed his heart had stopped twice during surgery and he had been clinically dead for a significant time. This experience left him with a complex relationship with death - while confirming an afterlife exists, it increased his fear of dying and led to recurring sleep paralysis that seems connected to his near-death experience.
