On April 23, 1969, 11-year-old Eileen flipped over bicycle handlebars, landing on her head. She sustained a depressed skull fracture, subdural hematoma, temporary blindness, and fell into a coma with seizures on day 3. During emergency surgery for burr holes, she had an out-of-body experience floating above the operating room, observing her body and the medical staff working on her. She vividly remembered details of the OR tiles and stainless steel equipment. A very bright white light appeared that was warm and didn't hurt to look at. Communication was telepathic as the light explained she was no longer in her body. She experienced a life review in film strip form going backwards and forwards, with the light pointing out where she could have been nicer. When asked if she wanted to go with the light, she hesitated and was told she wasn't ready and must go back to help other people, though she wouldn't remember everything shown. Re-entry was like being sucked into a vacuum. She awoke a week and a half later. Post-NDE, she developed premonitions in black and white dreams that always come true, heard voices including deceased relatives, and saw visions.
