On September 3, 1990, Roger was involved in a head-on collision while his friend was driving. At the moment of impact, he was immediately projected from his body and observed both his friend and himself motionless in the car, appearing dead. A small fire had started in the engine area. His friend's spirit was not present with him.
Roger felt compelled to notify his parents and friends about the accident. Instantly, he was before them in daylight on another day, able to travel through time. They could neither see nor hear him. Letting himself go, he entered a dark, peaceful place and watched his entire life unfold like a 3D movie, experiencing both his own feelings and those of people he had interacted with throughout his life. He understood this created a "karma account" determining his place in the afterlife. Following the life review, he saw a distant light and entered orbit around a huge cone of light, hearing the words Peace, Joy, Happiness, Love, and Eternity. After forgiving grudges that prevented his entry, he entered the light experiencing an explosion of love beyond human description. Within the light, he had access to complete universal knowledge. He learned of thousands of planets with life, both more and less evolved than Earth. He was shown an advanced civilization using gravity generators for space travel and taking energy directly from cosmic sources. He also witnessed primitive worlds and received visions of Earth's future, including conflicts beginning in New York City (which he later connected to 9/11) and an asteroid impact in 3587. Roger met his deceased friend who was dressed in white, and as their bodies fused, they could read each other's thoughts perfectly through telepathy. She explained she would stay in the Light while he must return.
