Michelle experienced two NDEs. The first occurred in 1990 during a head-on collision in Amherst, Massachusetts. She was driving with her sister-in-law and children when they were struck head-on. Michelle believes she died when her sister-in-law's head impact killed her. In the ambulance, she floated above her body as a spirit form, watching EMTs work on her. She saw her body on the stretcher while trying to tell them she was okay, but they couldn't hear her. She entered a beautiful, peaceful green tunnel unlike any earthly color. While floating through this tunnel, she heard her four-month-old son's voice calling "Mommy, come back!" even though he couldn't speak. This pulled her back into her body, where she experienced excruciating pain. She suffered PTSD for six months afterward. The second experience occurred around 1997 during a sleep apnea episode. She was in bed when she saw a bright white light with a silhouette of Jesus or an angel at her bedside. She felt herself being pulled toward the light as her heart raced. A voice told her "My child, it's not the end of the world; go back and rest." She felt embraced by peace and went back to sleep. Both experiences transformed her spiritually, making her more religious and connected to nature, angels, and the divine.
