Benjamin F experienced two profound NDEs that shaped his entire worldview and life trajectory. His first occurred at age 3 in 1981 while drowning in Africa during a time of religious war. After the initial panic and pain of lungs filling with water, he experienced a pleasant void and sensation of being carried. Following this childhood drowning, he felt simultaneously painful about having to continue living yet feeling lucky and chosen. This early brush with death immediately directed his curiosity toward all aspects of death and dying, imbuing him with omnipresent positivism and immense self-confidence that would define his entire life.
His second NDE occurred in 1992 at junior high school during a violent attack that caused the loss of 3 liters of blood. As he continued hemorrhaging before help arrived, Benjamin accepted his approaching death without regret despite his balanced life. In his final moments, he wrote messages on walls with his blood, confident and without demagogy or hate, presenting his personal life to those he would leave behind. The calm and serene confidence he felt facing death stemmed directly from his earlier drowning experience. He accepted this premature death as something banal rather than traumatic. Both experiences involved sensations of darkness and light, silence, and being carried or floating. His thoughts accelerated incredibly fast during the experiences, and he felt he was losing everything yet needed to do good before leaving definitely. During the second experience, he felt ready to go and concluded about the arrival of doctors. He sensed a kind of barrier that gave him freedom to continue life as he had started it. The experiences revealed that terrestrial life is mean and petty, while the soul persists immortally without glory in death. These NDEs, occurring first as a toddler then as an adolescent, granted Benjamin immense maturity and an external perspective on established truths. No hate or mistrust remained from either traumatic event. He developed the certainty to do good like an angel, understanding that sharing is necessarily moral and ethical. Both experiences convinced him that a predestination allows us to choose our time on earth, that life is good but requires humility, and that one must fight at all times.
