On July 16, 2008, Tina experienced an alcohol-induced seizure that caused her breathing to stop, creating a near-death experience of profound simplicity and transformation. After drinking too much alcohol in a short time, she collapsed halfway into a bathroom, unable to move, while hearing people discussing calling paramedics. Everything then went completely black, and she entered a state of absolute peace unlike anything she had ever experienced before or since - no emotional pain, no anger, no fear, just the perfect peace she had always searched for in life. Though her experience contained no visual elements, no beings, no tunnel or light, the depth of peace was so complete and encompassing that she knew with certainty she was in the presence of God's love. This pure experience of divine peace and love occurred in total darkness, demonstrating that profound spiritual experiences don't require elaborate visions. When she suddenly returned to her body, she was on the bathroom floor as paramedics arrived, and despite normally being terrified of death, she was filled with lasting peace and the certain knowledge that she would be fine. Her friend later confirmed that Tina had indeed stopped breathing for a short period during the seizure. The experience produced a permanent life change - she has never drunk alcohol again and has remained completely sober since that day, no longer fearing death and knowing that the incredible peace she experienced exists beyond this life and cannot be found in earthly existence.
