Patty J experienced clinical death in a severe car accident in April 1980, with her heart stopped for approximately 15 minutes according to her fiancé. She suffered multiple injuries including a broken femur requiring traction, a wrist broken in two places and dislocated, a cracked collar bone, and massive chest bruising that turned completely black and blue.
During her clinical death, she found herself in a cool, dark place feeling innocent like a child with no memory of family or Earth. She saw a small light in the distance that was the only light there, and felt herself moving very fast toward it without fear. She heard a buzzing sound that became her name being called. Remembering her mother and fiancé, she told the Lord "I can't go," to which a strong but gentle voice replied "Very well," though it sounded like the voice wished she had decided to continue. She then felt a thud as she hit her body, experiencing a nasty return with rasping breathing and feeling like a mule had kicked her in the chest. Her fiancé provided corroboration, witnessing her death state with blue lips, open staring eyes, blood drained from her face, positioned under the dash with her head thrown back on the seat for about 15 minutes while he was unconscious from hitting his head on the steering wheel. Following the experience, she reports having increased visions that always come true, keeping records and drawings of them with newspaper clippings when they manifest.
