Seven days after giving birth in February 1975, Lyndall suffered a massive hemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital. She lost 21 pints of blood, requiring transfusions through both arms and legs, and underwent an emergency hysterectomy. Despite appearing unconscious to medical staff, she maintained complete awareness of everything happening around her in extraordinary detail.
During the hemorrhage, she was aware of conversations about her dying state, including a nurse crying and staff discussing her newborn daughter with sadness. She observed the doctor surrounded by shining silver light and her own body enveloped in beautiful blue light. She felt held in the arms of Jesus or an incredibly loving energy, similar to a baby held by its mother but even clearer. All pain disappeared as she felt energy moving up her body, wanting it to exit through her head while humming a sound similar to "Om." Her life passed before her eyes with impartial self-judgment. A panel of advisory beings appeared, presenting reasons for returning versus continuing on. Though she wanted to move into the loving space, she chose to return for her newborn baby, believing she would be needed to save her daughter's life in the future (which proved true). She also had thoughts about never having spent money freely. Once decided, she instantly returned to her body. The experience included passing through the opening in her head to meet the panel of beings who showed her life experiences. She felt the essence of Jesus and became aware of a mystical loving energy that was all-pervasive, assisting both her and her caregivers. The experience left her certain about life after death and the existence of intelligence separate from the physical body.
