On September 11, 2001, 10-year-old Luis experienced a traumatic day that began with his younger brother being rushed to emergency with a 107-degree fever. While watching the Twin Towers collapse on television, Luis claimed to see the Devil's face in the smoke clouds, smiling at the destruction - something he says his mother initially confirmed seeing but later denied. The combination of witnessing mass death and this frightening vision triggered severe anxiety and compulsive eating.
That evening, after playing soccer and continuing to eat excessively despite feeling ill, Luis developed chest congestion. His father, rarely home due to union work, happened to be present that night. Around 8:30 PM, feeling unusually weak and tired, Luis went to bed early. His mother found him dead in his room, vomiting severely. His father and uncle performed CPR while paramedics initially declared him dead with no chance of recovery. His father refused to accept this, continuing CPR and praying to God not to take his son. After being clinically dead for 10 minutes, a pulse returned. During his death, Luis found himself in a place of pure white clarity, feeling truly alive for the first time with no pain or sadness - only love and peace. A bright light blinded him, and as he approached it, his sense of peace intensified. A figure emerged from the light who embraced him and identified himself as "your father and the one who created you." God told Luis it was not his time, that he would be called again later, and that he should share his story so non-believers could know God exists and watches over everyone. Luis woke in the hospital as if nothing had happened, though his parents described the room as wrecked from his violent vomiting. The experience gave him déjà vu abilities and transformed his faith. He now attends church weekly, maintains daily gratitude, and believes God sent him back because his family needed him and to share testimony of God's existence.
