At age 4½ in 1962, Stephanie experienced an NDE following post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage that went undetected for nearly a week. She literally bled to death down the back of her throat before being rushed to the hospital in a lethargic state with convulsions. During resuscitation attempts, she observed herself rising toward the ceiling tiles, initially seeing dots that became holes as she got closer. She was suddenly "whooshed" through the ceiling and found herself standing on something solid but transparent like glass. From this vantage point above, she could see and hear the medical team working on her body below with enhanced vision and hearing. A radiant being stood beside her, emanating extraordinary love and warmth that she describes as Earth's love multiplied by 1,000. They communicated telepathically while watching the doctors and nurses trying to revive her body. When someone yelled "We're losing her!" she wondered why they couldn't see her right there. The being's presence gave her complete bliss and peace, making her want to stay. After successful resuscitation, she experienced lasting psychic phenomena including déjà vu, telepathy, premonition dreams, and clairvoyance. During her follow-up visit, the doctor confirmed there was no ether given and was shocked that she could accurately recall all medications, tools, procedures and staff positions during her cardiac arrest.
