Jeffery was electrocuted with 13,500 volts from three-phase power lines while trying to prop up a ham radio antenna that came in contact with overhead power lines during a storm. After being thrown to the ground, he thought he was okay as he felt no pain. He attempted to communicate with family members but they couldn't hear him. When he thought about getting closer to their ear, he was instantly transported there, realizing he could travel instantly wherever he thought about going. He observed the emergency response from outside his body, counting 15 emergency vehicles total including fire trucks and police. He saw priests from the Catholic high school across the street standing together in the side yard. He experienced no concept of time during the event. He didn't realize he was out of his body until after being revived by paramedics and having time to reflect while sitting in a chair behind the house. His hands and feet were severely burned, looking "like burnt bacon" for a long time. The experience eliminated his fear of death and gave him absolute certainty of an afterlife. He also developed telekinetic abilities and enhanced strength after the experience.
