On October 22, 2011, Jacqueline experienced a severe allergic reaction while resting on a warm Sunday. A tremendous surge of heat ran through her body, and upon standing, she immediately lost vision and heard her heartbeat becoming increasingly loud and slow. She was clinically dead for twelve minutes. During this time, she experienced no concept of time and felt tremendous light that would seem blinding to normal eyes. She first encountered her dog Mr. Miyagi who had died six months earlier, appearing lion-like in his prime in a meadow, radiating love. She then met Malcolm G, a family friend who had died of cancer, appearing strong and healthy with laughter surrounding him. Next she saw her mother Margaret who had committed suicide eight years earlier, now beautiful and surrounded by children, radiating peace. Her mother told her "the only thing that's real is love" and to stay connected to her sister. Finally, she encountered her father John, who had been murdered twenty years earlier, appearing tall and refined, radiating peace. All beings communicated through knowing rather than words. After these encounters, she felt a tremendous force pushing her back at great speed. She awoke in intensive care with doctors present, initially unable to see but sensing a pale blue aura around her husband David. She eventually regained her sight and made a full recovery.
