On February 1, 1996, Romy was in a car with her family traveling in India when the vehicle tumbled down a mountain. As the car began rolling, she heard a masculine, comforting voice saying "It is all okay" and "Roll with it," experiencing absolute peace without fear. She left the car and witnessed her entire life unfolding as millions of pictures like movie frames with gaps of light between them. She could zoom in and out of any life scene and realized that the light threading between moments was always available for connection with the divine.
During the experience, she found herself traveling through scenery at immense speed toward a massive, brilliant white light. The light emanated from what initially looked like a volcano edge but was actually an endless expanse. When the light enveloped her, she experienced the most beautiful, warm, nourishing qualities - extremely alive and powerful unconditional love. She felt everything she had ever needed was in this light and chose to merge with it completely. She understood this light had been present throughout her entire life, threading through every moment. After jumping into the light and experiencing oneness, the scene suddenly shifted to her emerging from beneath a frozen lake, pushing upward against ice to break through and breathe. She pushed until the ice lifted and floated above her, allowing her to surface. Upon breaking through, the light enveloped her again and she returned to her body. She awoke 50 meters from the car unable to breathe until the voice instructed her to "contract your diaphragm." For the first hour after returning, she retained expanded perception, seeing things in the air her mind couldn't identify and hearing loud male voices singing Hebrew prayers. One brother died in the accident. The experience taught her that at any moment the divine light is accessible between the pictures of our lives.
