On September 28, 1986, Robyn told her husband she wanted a divorce, triggering a premeditated murder attempt. He locked her in their home while their three children were next door, dragged her to the bedroom, and attacked her with 8-inch sewing shears. Upon returning, she spoke words that came through her but weren't consciously chosen, repeatedly saying "The water will make everything okay." These words put her husband into a trance-like state. Following inner guidance, she directed him to get in the shower, then escaped when she heard the word "NOW!" She ran to the neighbor's house where her children were, arriving naked and covered in blood. The experience was featured on Oprah Winfrey two years later. The immediate forgiveness transformed the entire situation, with Robyn describing it as love being the greatest power in the universe. She experienced the heartbeat of the world and understood that forgiveness was the key that unlocked the door to her survival.
