Ricardo, a Catholic priest, experienced a sudden sharp stomach pain while finishing lunch on July 26, 2014. The pain intensified rapidly, and he felt pulled backward by an invisible force before a white light enveloped him completely. He was transported from his dining room into what appeared to be a car traveling at high speed down a desert road toward mountains. The landscape was semi-desert with acacia trees, sand-colored earth, and a massive white cloud covering the horizon behind distant mountains.
As he approached the mountains, the brilliant white cloud grew larger and brighter, eventually enveloping him in light with a slight golden hue. Within this light, he experienced absolute peace, joy, and unconditional love that transcended anything he had known. He felt welcomed, loved without conditions, and forgiven for all mistakes. The light conveyed that this same love is given to every human being regardless of their beliefs or moral status. Suddenly the scene shifted to him emerging from beneath ice covering a lake, pushing upward to break through and breathe. After breaking through the ice, the light enveloped him again and he found himself back at his dining table, breathing heavily. His companion Angelica witnessed him unconscious for about ten seconds, his body rigid with arms contracted to his chest, struggling to breathe. She confirmed seeing him suddenly collapse after complaining of stomach pain. Upon returning, Ricardo experienced profound life changes including increased compassion, detachment from material things, and a new perspective on life's meaning. He understood that the light represents God's essence and that all human suffering stems from attachment. The experience taught him that death is a continuation rather than an opposite of life.
