Hamad experienced multiple NDEs beginning in 1986 during the Iran-Iraq war when a bullet hit him in the head. He went into a coma and was presumed dead with an extremely weak pulse, wrapped in plastic and placed with corpses until vapor in the bag revealed he was alive. During his month-long coma, he remembered walking on a path hearing people talking. In subsequent surgeries at Loghman-Hakim hospital, though anesthetized, he could hear doctors and nurses talking, see their clothing colors, hear their jokes, and watched everything from the ceiling. Another experience occurred in 1990-91 during a seizure with cardiac arrest, where his mother's prayers pulled him back. Throughout these experiences, he felt special peace and warmth, experiencing a spirit world where physical laws didn't apply - seeing clearly in darkness, looking at the sun without harm, feeling protected by an invisible force. The space had green and yellow light at a boundary between physical and metaphysical worlds. He felt watched by unseen eyes and overwhelming love, though he missed loved ones. During one hospital experience, he saw a nurse whose dress was improper but who appeared shining with light as she compassionately fed him. The experiences made him more spiritual, helping him detach from earthly concerns and perceive the physical world as "child's play." He saw an image of himself as very old and soaked.
