George underwent prostate surgery in April 2014 and was recovering when he felt wet under his back - he was bleeding out. He prayed the Shema (Jewish pledge of faith) on the way to ICU as everyone's faces showed horror. When doctors and nurses crowded the well-lit room, he felt himself going up like in an invisible elevator, hovering and bobbing above his bed.
From above, George could hear and understand what everyone was thinking and saying simultaneously. He knew one doctor understood what was happening while others were speculating. He came back down and said aloud "Listen to him! He understands," referring to the specific doctor. The experience was "super-hyper realistic, a super-hyper-High-Definition version of reality." George experienced no emotions during the NDE - he felt like a robot with cold, analytical, super-precise analysis of conversations. He could hear everything despite normally wearing two hearing aids. He maintains his Jewish faith but remains uncertain about God. The experience proved to him he is not his body but exists separately from it. He required 5 blood transfusions and his blood pressure dropped below 60.
