On February 15, 2003, Nanette F choked on food and experienced clinical death, spending five days on life support in intensive care. During this time, she had an experience of awakening on what seemed to be a ship or airplane with a young man sitting beside her bed. This companion, whom she had never seen before, smiled reassuringly and told her she was not dying and had a long journey ahead. While other people were present, she found herself invisible to them - only the young man could interact with her. He provided her with water and food when needed and kept her company throughout the journey. She wanted him to meet her husband to thank him for his care, but the man said it wasn't time. She awoke in intensive care after five days, having believed she was traveling to meet her husband when she had actually been on life support. What seemed like months to her had been only days in reality.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes an angelic companion figure who provided comfort and care, reminiscent of biblical guardian angels. The journey motif and being told "it's not time" align with common biblical themes of divine timing. The invisibility to others while visible to the spiritual companion echoes biblical accounts of selective spiritual sight. Unbiblical elements: None explicitly identified. The experience is relatively simple without theological content that would contradict scripture. The young man could represent an angel, though his identity remains unknown to the experiencer.
