Raymond experienced multiple cardiac arrests (possibly nine times) in one night after suffering chest pains at home. He collapsed while trying to call emergency services and was revived by his cat licking his nose. In the ambulance, he lost consciousness and found himself in a place with vivid green grass and warm breeze, where five people in white robes recognized him. An older man reading a book said "He is not supposed to be here" and waved him back. In the emergency room, he died multiple times, experiencing both hellish pain and heavenly realms. He encountered his deceased friend Dave in a grey-colored realm. During resuscitations, he observed events from outside his body, including specific medical procedures and conversations. He saw himself from ceiling perspective and heard staff discussions. The paramedic Rebecca confirmed he died at exactly 12 o'clock and later visited him. Barry from the ER confirmed details Raymond observed. After recovery, Raymond developed the ability to see illness in people, which he used working in a hospital cancer unit.
