Following a suicide attempt in 1972, Nan A lost consciousness in an ambulance and was given drugs to restore minimal consciousness. She experienced leaving her body through the top of her head and traveling through a dark tunnel. After emerging into an expansive night sky area, she realized two women were with her - an older calm woman on her right who looked like a guardian angel, and a distressed middle-aged woman on her left who kept saying "It's not time!" She saw a pinpoint of light that grew larger as they approached, revealing tens of thousands of beings in white gowns singing praises to The Light. The Light emanated overwhelming love and spoke in a firm male voice saying "Go Back! You have a Great Deal To Learn." Despite her protests, she was sent back and re-entered through the top of her head, becoming conscious in the ambulance. She later experienced the same feeling of love only once more, in the presence of a living Sufi Master. The experience led to vivid dreams that came true and premonitions, eventually leading her to begin a spiritual path in 1989.
