Four days after tonsillectomy, Fabien experienced severe hemorrhaging at home, swallowing large amounts of blood. After emergency surgery, he lost consciousness in the hospital bathroom while evacuating blood. He experienced progressive sensory changes - tinnitus, blurred vision, then complete blackness with bell sounds. As nurses attempted to revive him with slaps, he initially felt pain that gradually transformed into pleasant caresses. A brilliant white light appeared and encompassed the room, creating a fog-like atmosphere with no pain and wonderful sensations. He thought "if this is death, I should have died earlier!" The white light then shifted to a pinkish light with even more pleasant sensations. His soul began detaching from his body and earthly memories started being erased - he gradually forgot his identity, family, and friends. He was revived with adrenaline injection and hospitalized for two more weeks. The experience eliminated his fear of death.
