Michael and his sister were resting when she left to use the toilet outside the house. He leaned forward onto iron window bars to enjoy the breeze from a table fan in the adjacent room when he got stuck and electrocuted. Unable to scream anymore, he became aware he was dying and felt extreme distress. Then peace overcame him with a strong awareness of death. He began moving upward away from his body, floating only a few feet when he saw his sister in the next room reaching to switch off the fan - a view impossible from where his body was stuck. The moment she switched off the fan, he was back in his body for two seconds before losing consciousness. He awoke later on another bed with his sister pressing his legs as his stiff body slowly returned to normal. Within an hour he could walk normally with no lasting physical damage. This veridical out-of-body observation of his sister's actions from an impossible vantage point during electrocution demonstrated consciousness existing outside his dying body.
