In December 1990, Marsha was being strangled by another person during a criminal attack. Though the experience was brief because the perpetrator was scared off, it was profoundly meaningful. She quickly entered a tunnel of pure white light, with a grey dot visible at the far end. The tunnel itself was white and luminous. She described it as the most wonderful experience ever, characterized by extraordinary peacefulness. The most striking element was the music she heard - unlike anything she had ever experienced before or since. She was overwhelmed by its beauty and states she will never forget it, though she cannot adequately describe it. She looks forward to hearing it again. When she returned to her body, she felt very disappointed to be back. The experience was marked by heightened senses, altered time perception, and intense positive emotions including incredible peace, joy, and a sense of harmony with the universe. Her religious beliefs changed significantly afterward, leading her on a successful quest to find her true spirituality as a Gnostic, eliminating dogma from modern religion.
