Maime had an allergic reaction to seafood at a restaurant in April 1997. After telling her husband the food tasted funny, she passed out forward onto the table with no heartbeat or breathing. She experienced a tunnel-like phenomenon where the tunnel flowed over her and she saw pieces of her life playing back, including forgotten experiences with both deceased and living family members. She felt absolute peace, calm, safety and love. She could faintly hear her husband calling her name from far away. When she turned to respond, she was jolted back into her body as they managed to get a heartbeat. A month later, her young son drowned but survived 28 minutes without breath after being declared clinically dead. She believes her NDE gave her the knowledge and belief that helped save him. Both now experience spiritual contact and psychic abilities.
