At age six, Alta was playing with friends when a bulldozer accidentally buried her under sand for approximately five minutes. Instead of experiencing the expected darkness and suffocation, she found herself immersed in wonderful, warm, loving light. She felt as if being held in the arms of Jesus, experiencing total protection, peace, and the sensation of being precious and cherished. The experience was characterized by complete calm, timelessness, and disconnection from the physical world. She had no awareness of her body or fear, only experiencing profound peacefulness and unconditional love. When she was dug out and carried home, she remained completely calm despite everyone else panicking, unable to move her body initially but knowing everything was okay. The experience confirmed her knowledge that she is never alone and always loved, strengthening her faith and compassion throughout her life.
