Todd was a 12-year-old boy skateboarding with older neighborhood kids when a 16-year-old put him in a sleeper hold (choke hold) that cuts off blood flow to the brain and oxygen to the lungs. Within seconds he was unconscious. He suddenly found himself floating about 10 feet above everyone, looking down at the scene like a camera view. He could see his own body lying on the road while the other kids laughed around him. He could hear the laughter and birds chirping clearly. He felt no pain, only peace and happiness, with no worries at all. Colors seemed more vivid and everything was crystal clear on what he noticed was a beautiful day. He wasn't worried about his body on the ground and felt completely fine floating above. Then instantly he was back in his body, waking up refreshed as the kids continued laughing. The experience eliminated his fear of death, strengthened his faith in God, and increased his compassion for others. He now knows with certainty that consciousness survives bodily death.
