Monique attempted suicide by jumping from a 30-meter (98 feet) building. Coming out of "the light," a paradisiacal landscape opened before her with a wooden bridge over a flowing river. To the left in a mountain landscape was a magnificent rainbow where the light was even stronger, warmer, and more filled with love. She KNEW she would enter there and be happy. Deceased family members awaited her on the other side of the bridge. A child came to pick her up for the crossing. When she set foot on the bridge, she heard her children yelling "MAMA!!" and was sent back against her will. She experienced overwhelming happiness, total plenitude, and an ecstasy of love - feeling finally truly loved. Time had no meaning and she understood she was returning to the sources as part of the Universe. The white light grew from a small dot to encompass her in warmth and love. She became a volunteer helping very poor people after the experience. Her values changed dramatically - she now lives day to day trying to be as nice as possible, listens more to others, and is no longer scared about the future. She didn't speak about it for 5 years fearing people would think her crazy. She believes in a Supreme Being of pure LOVE who loves everyone, though she cannot name this being and thinks it might be feminine like a mother's love.
