Meg had a medical procedure at her hospital workplace that triggered severe septic shock. In the ICU, her blood pressure dropped critically to 40/0 and she stopped breathing. During this crisis, she experienced herself in her deceased grandmother's kitchen with her grandmother, aunt, and brother - all deceased. Her aunt, who had elephantiasis in life, appeared without swollen legs and communicated telepathically that she wanted to wash Meg's hair, a childhood ritual. A glowing cherub-like male baby face circulated around her aunt's head. When Meg knew she was returning, her aunt said "Tell your Mom I'm happy and everything is good." After recovery, Meg's mother revealed the aunt had lost an infant son shortly after birth, which the family never discussed. The message was meaningful as the mother had asked the aunt before her 1966 surgery to send a message if she didn't survive. Meg felt complete bliss, warmth, and peace during the experience. She experienced no physical pain despite her critical condition. The experience profoundly changed her perspective on life and death, leading her to volunteer in palliative care and create a JALMALV association in 2007.
