Martin experienced cardiac catheter error resulting in bypass graft dissection and heart attack, followed by multiple complications including septic shock and organ failure. He lost pulse and blood pressure for about four minutes and was maintained comatose for eight days. He felt released from his body and saw his wife at bedside and people working on him, wanting to tell them he was OK. He then experienced what he calls "my tour," traveling to various places including familiar childhood locations and unknown landscapes with waterfalls, fields with children playing, beaches, and other planets and galaxies. He reached an area of darkness with distant light, felt compelled to travel toward it, and encountered other spirits as ethereal mist. He met his deceased sister and mother, then encountered an overwhelming presence he recognized as God, surrounded by unconditional love and forgiveness. When he wanted to continue through the light, he received a clear message "No, go back. It is not your time" with visions of his wife and children. His wife later verified his observations of the room. The experience transformed him from skeptic to believer, knowing God and Heaven are real.
