Marta experienced a severe allergic reaction causing anaphylactic shock. At the hospital emergency room, she felt a freezing sensation starting at her feet and moving up her body. She knew when it covered her head she would leave, said goodbye to her son-in-law, and fainted. She then had a joyful experience jumping around in clouds, being overweight at the time, she would fall through clouds and land on ones below, screaming with joy like a child at an amusement park. She felt incredible, indescribable joy and happiness. Suddenly she felt like a giant vacuum cleaner was sucking her down from the clouds. She fell a long way and crash-landed back in her body. Before opening her eyes, she thought "If this is dying, dying is marvelous!" She felt drunk with joy. Upon waking, surrounded by medical staff who said her system had collapsed, she learned she had lost control of bodily functions. Her son-in-law witnessed her transformation. The experience eliminated her fear of death and led her to serve the homeless in a soup kitchen, finding her life mission.
