While driving to visit her daughter, Marla became lifeless and left her body. From above the car (where the roof was but with no ceiling in her way), she watched her car swerving off and back onto the interstate highway. She laughed and felt embarrassed about not driving correctly, asking "What am I doing off the road?" She heard tires squealing to her right and was aware of the car heading toward the concrete median. She felt airborne and said "well, I've wrecked my life," knowing her body would be damaged or dead. She felt lifted upward and did not look at her body. When she became conscious, rescue teams were already there. Her car had flipped over and skidded 100 feet on its top, partially removing her scalp. The instant she woke, she KNEW she should be dead and that God had kept her alive. Witnesses confirmed her car came very close to other vehicles. The experience left her unafraid of death, more compassionate, and with a strong sense that we are here to help others.
