Mark experienced two NDEs, one in 2001 and another in October 2013. During the 2001 experience with seizure medication, he had a full out-of-body experience watching emergency room staff work on him, recalling their entire conversation which he related to the doctor immediately after. In the 2013 experience during a cardiac stress test, after receiving a stimulant through IV, his heart stopped completely for over a minute. He felt warm and comfortable in a brightly lit corridor or tunnel. He became aware of medical staff swarming around him and heard the doctor say "I have 5 beats per minute and increasing." The doctor confirmed his heart rate had dropped to zero for over a minute. In both experiences, Mark saw bright white light and felt peaceful. He was in the tunnel during the second experience and felt he was in the right place but was not ready to pass. The experiences left him less fearful of life and death, though uncertain about sharing them with others.
