Riccardo experienced a severe allergic reaction to dental anesthesia that caused an anaphylactic shock and heart attack. During the crisis, he found himself sitting in the middle of a large black velvet semicircular sofa facing a big screen like a movie theater. On the screen was a dark mountain with blinding light behind it that forced him to look down. Around him to the right and left were shadows of people who appeared to be deceased relatives and friends, though he couldn't distinguish their faces in the darkness. These beings had weak flames shining on their heads and their presence provided him with security and love. He heard soft music and smelled orange blossoms in the air. He felt extremely happy and was waiting for something special, but was denied this by his return to life when medical staff revived him.
