In early March 2003, Liz experienced a drug overdose from marijuana that led to cardiac arrest. She was with friends when she began feeling strange effects, became violent (punching her boyfriend), and had trouble breathing. An ambulance was called, and by arrival she had turned white with a numb chest. She heard the heart monitor flatline and the EMT shouting at the driver to hurry.
