In early March 2003, Liz experienced a drug overdose from marijuana that led to cardiac arrest. She was with friends when she began feeling strange effects, became violent (punching her boyfriend), and had trouble breathing. An ambulance was called, and by arrival she had turned white with a numb chest. She heard the heart monitor flatline and the EMT shouting at the driver to hurry. When asked if she would die, the EMT said he didn't know. She prayed intensely to God, promising never to do anything stupid again. Everything became quiet and peaceful as she was surrounded by brilliant white light, feeling safe and happy. She saw herself from above in the ambulance, looking horrible with eyes half-open and shaking violently. She felt a hand gently pushing her back into her body, stopped shaking, and felt peaceful. Since then, she has felt a protective presence with her.

--- Biblical Summary ---
Biblical elements: The experience includes intense prayer to God, out-of-body observation, divine light, and being pushed back by what could be interpreted as an angel or God's hand. The lasting sense of a guardian presence aligns with biblical concepts of divine protection.

Unbiblical elements: None explicitly identified, though the drug use context is concerning from a biblical perspective.
