During a car accident on July 6, 1999, Lourdes was violently thrown forward and began experiencing regression to the womb. She shrank back to the maternal belly and arrived at a place of intense yellow light - a huge yellow field without plants. The atmosphere was palpable love, a kind unknown to her before where everything was love. She felt she was "home" and wanted to stay forever. The yellow color and love were one, bringing peace and calm. When she returned to the car, she realized they had an accident and found she had wet herself. Getting out barefoot without realizing it, she later discovered glass splinters in her feet. The experience made her determined to change her life after years of abuse and infidelity from her husband. She attempted to give new meaning to her life, eventually divorcing and meeting her current husband in May 2000. She describes finally beginning to truly live after that.
