During a dangerous childhood game involving physical exercises and breath-holding that caused syncope, Louis lost consciousness around 13:30. He found himself in a dark tunnel with a light at the end, where he encountered his father who had died 4 years prior. His father told him "it's not your hour" and Louis felt the light was filled with love that took away all life's frustrations. Though sad to leave his father again, he obeyed and turned around. The light gave him a sensation of perfect understanding and bliss, radiating love like divine mercy. He woke up on the playground tarmac after only a few minutes. The experience confirmed his belief in God and the Holy Spirit, with the immense love in the light convincing him of divine mercy. He notes he had a premonitory dream of his father's death 72 hours before it happened. The experience led him gradually toward deeper Catholic faith over many years despite subsequent traumatic experiences.
