During severe child abuse in 1966, Petra was beaten with a carpet beater and kicked down stairs, hitting her head on concrete. In that moment of extreme pain, she found herself outside her body observing the scene - watching her mother in rage beating what appeared to be a lifeless child's body. Petra felt no pain and was clear and strong in her out-of-body state. She then went through a tunnel filled with radiant light, encountering beings including Archangel Michael at the tunnel's end. At this crossroad, she had to choose whether to continue with the beings (meaning the child's body would die, exposing the abuse) or return to inhabit the body again. Despite the temptation to escape the abuse, another inner voice reminded her of her commitment to experience ascension and express her magnificent being in third-dimensional space. She chose to return, taking a big breath back into the child's body. After this experience, she developed enhanced spiritual awareness and kept to herself more, with the physical abuse continuing until age 14.
