Jim, a type-one diabetic since 1982, experienced a severe hypoglycemic episode with blood sugar of seven, the lowest his paramedic had ever seen. After collapsing on his kitchen floor, he found himself floating near the ceiling observing his unconscious body surrounded by paramedics wearing dark blue jackets. They were working methodically to revive him, and he watched them administer a glucagon injection into his stomach. Despite severe hypoglycemia typically causing intense anxiety and confusion, he experienced unprecedented peace, calm, warmth, and love. He received telepathic reassurance from a higher power that everything would be all right, believing it was divine communication. The experience ended abruptly when he was revived. This remained his most powerful spiritual experience, transforming him from an agnostic to a believer in God and heaven, while eliminating his fear of death. He understood he was given a second chance to live and raise his children.
