Jeffrey, an experienced pilot, crashed a DHC-2 Beaver aircraft after catastrophic engine failure at 350 feet altitude. During the crash, he experienced everything in slow motion as his wing wrapped around a tree. After the crash, he regained consciousness in the wreckage with severe injuries including twenty broken bones, smashed orbital bone, and serious head injury. He describes exiting the aircraft and walking to the tree line, dropping blood-soaked paper towels while wiping his bleeding head. Sitting at the tree line, he looked back and saw his own body hanging upside down in the pilot's seat, realizing he was dead. He experienced an extraordinarily blue sky, complete silence, and feelings of safety and comfort before losing consciousness again. Four days later he awoke in intensive care as a medical miracle with no brain damage. The mystery deepened when rescue workers confirmed he never actually left the aircraft, yet fifty-four blood-soaked paper towels were found outside leading to where he remembered walking.
