On June 1, 2011 at 8am, while driving his wife to work, JB Rene felt unfamiliar discomfort in his mid-rib and stomach area. At the hospital emergency room, while a nurse was taking vital signs, he passed out with complete cardiac arrest - no pulse, dilated pupils, clinically dead. The medical team used a defibrillator eight times to revive his heart. During this time, he saw an extremely bright light radiating white, gold, orange, and yellow colors. He traveled with the light across a vast green meadow toward what seemed like a festival on the horizon. He felt indescribable joy and peace, no longer knowing pain or sorrow. The light communicated telepathically, telling him to "Be humble" and pray "Have mercy on me, a sinner" three times. After successful resuscitation, he spent fourteen days in intensive care. During his experience, he also reported his other self roaming the hospital, going to the ICU and seeing green-uniformed nurses, orange curtains, and greeting patients. The experience profoundly deepened his spiritual faith and made him less attached to material things.
