Seven-year-old Irene was pushed off a high diving board and fell through the side railings, landing on concrete instead of in the swimming pool. She could experience multiple conversations and activities simultaneously without any emotional response - neither happiness nor sadness, just pure observation. Years later, she encountered a lifeguard who had been working that day and confirmed all the details she described from her out-of-body perspective, including that it was his first job and most memorable day. She awakened one week later in a hospital concussion cage used for young children with traumatic injuries. The experience provided enhanced consciousness allowing simultaneous perception of multiple events, though she felt no emotions during the observation period.
