Leona was severely beaten by her ex-husband and hospitalized for five days in a coma with uncontrolled seizures. Her body was deteriorating and family was called to say goodbye. According to her sister Madeline who was praying over her, Leona's heart monitor flatlined and she stopped breathing. About five minutes later, Leona suddenly opened her eyes and said "Hi Madeline!"
During her death state, Leona experienced an incredible calm after passing through what felt like a tornado. She was led through whiteness to a white horizon that seemed like a road. She saw a badly mangled dog beside the road and felt sad for it. A figure resembling Jesus with long hair, beard, and white garments appeared, put his arm around her shoulder, and walked with her. When she asked about the dog, he said "Don't worry, it's okay." Before she could ask more, she was suddenly pulled backward into her body where her sister was crying over her.
