Frank experienced an NDE following a severe head-on collision between his small car and a delivery truck in April 2011, with both vehicles traveling at 40 mph. Later, while getting ready for work at 4:44 AM, he suddenly found himself in a room filled with "all light" - a sentient light without shadows that conveyed the most powerful feeling of joy he could not explain. He felt a presence within the light and asked if he was dead, feeling no sadness about the possibility. A non-audible but felt voice told him he had many more years left on Earth. When he asked if he had to go back, he felt intense despair, later struggling with guilt about not wanting to return despite having a wife and two small children. He sensed the light smiling before violently awakening seated in his car with deflated airbag and glass everywhere. Though the experience seemed brief, when he checked the time it was 4:59 AM. His therapist later informed him that 444 has spiritual significance regarding angelic protection. The experience transformed his faith from moderate to greatly important.
