Elaina experienced a severe accident involving a direct head injury in 2004. Despite the terrible nature of the accident, she sustained no severe injuries beyond hitting her head. During the incident, she experienced a brief out-of-body episode where she saw herself lying on the street from an external perspective. She recalls seeing herself sitting there looking for something before passing out. The experience involved a strange feeling of observing herself from outside her body for a few seconds before returning to her body. She felt confused during the experience but was waiting for the next thing to happen. When she regained full consciousness, she was being attended by a nurse while waiting for an ambulance. The experience left her with no significant life changes or altered beliefs, maintaining her Muslim faith and moderate fear of death. She initially believed the experience was not real but now considers it probably real.
